Step 1: Select the theoretical approach or approaches on which the intervention will be based
The relationship between social exclusion and drug dependence can be represented as follows:

The bidirectional nature of social exclusion and drug dependence implies that treating and resolving drug dependence would help reduce the risk of exclusion, overcoming this process, just as a reduction in exclusion would help treat and overcome drug dependence, as well as prevent relapses.
