What steps should be completed?

Step 1: Select the theoretical approach or approaches on which the intervention will be based

MULTICOMPONENT THERAPIES

The different types and techniques of behavioural and cognitive behavioural therapies, and others from other psychological therapy approaches, are another part of the packages of therapeutic measures in broader drug dependence treatments (multicomponent programmes), which go beyond the mere combination of pharmacological and psychological therapies. These include:

  • The Matrix Model, a multicomponent treatment model (approach) that includes individual and group cognitive behavioural therapy aimed at relapse prevention, family therapy, drug education and participation in self-help activities. +
  • Therapeutic Communities. A long-term residential treatment model (approach) that incorporates a wide variety of approaches, always including (in professional treatments) psychological therapy. +
